"And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything.
Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else."
~ Acts 17:25
Beautiful! And the scripture is so well fitting for the photo. Reminds me of one of my favorite scriptures - Philippians 3:8. "Yes, everything else is worthless compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord." (NLT)
Paul knew only too well what it meant to suffer(2 Cor 11:23-28), so he didn't mean that we should repress our emotions when suffering. He knew only too well that God has a plan and a purpose for suffering(Rom 5:3-5; Heb 12:5-9). Nevertheless, suffering is by nature a negative emotion whatever its external reality. Christ himself, was "a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief"(Isa 53:3-4). But what the apostle is teaching us here is whatever your suffering in this world is, it is nothing in comparison to the joy to be revealed when we see our Savior face-to-face. So if we can comprehend the deepest valley of suffering in this world, it is incomparable to the coming mountain of joy found in Christ when he returns. So, when suffering comes, look "to Jesus...who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross"(Heb 12:2). He has conquered death & hell, and has gone to prepare a place for us(Jn 14:1-3) where there is no more "death...mourning...crying, nor pain"(Rev 21:4).
I can't imagine the glory that awaits us~!
Thank you so much for the reminder of the verse. And I LOVE that building - I love the architecture of the buildings there in the area that you live. And by the way your weather sounds like it is wonderful - at least through summer.. Lisa :O)
Lisa, I told you about the temps, but forgot to mention it seems to constantly rain here in the UK...
love this, so true we must keep going!!
Such a wonderful reminder! What glory it will be when we are in the presence of our precious Lord. Everything on this earth and all that we have gone through will be nothing when we are with Jesus Christ. "It will be worth it all when we see Jesus, life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ..."Love,Stephanie
