As the “fire” consumes the “chaff” (Je 23:28), so “My word” will consume the false prophets (Mt 3:12; Heb 4:12). “My word” which is “wheat” (Je 23:28), that is, food to the true prophet and his hearers, is a consuming “fire,” and a crushing “hammer” (Mt 21:44) to false prophets and their followers (2Co 2:16) - Jamieson, Fausset and Brown.

When I was told that Jesus died for me because I am a sinner, I remember the heat from that fire and that blow from that hammer. I have never looked back, I needed a Savior, I needed a deliverer, I needed a friend. I can now rejoice because I know I am forgiven, though my sins were many.

Precious metals go through the flames to purify them, and they are hammered into shape to make them useful. God, take me as I am, purify my heart and make me the man you want me to be.

The word of God is shaper than any two edged sword. The word of God shall not return empty.
Thank you for sowing and keeping on the good work day by day.
Some day you shall see the result of your sowing.
The word shall not return empty.
